THE COMPANY
TasteTech is a family run company making controlled-release food flavourings and ingredients for the food industry. Based in Bristol, they are pioneers in flavour encapsulation technology as used in chewing gum, confectionary and sports nutrition. They also offer creative solutions to bakery markets worldwide.
THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE
As a highly specialised company TasteTech must offer very high levels of safety, efficiency and discretion – many of their client companies insist on non-disclosure agreements to protect the secrecy of their recipes. They must also comply with very strict British standards for food manufacturing. Rob Sinton, Supply Chain Manager and owning family member says; “Food safety is at the forefront of everything that we do which in turn helps to build customer trust.” Correct labelling is paramount and everything must be traceable on its journey in and out of the factory.
THE SOLUTION
With ambitious plans for growth TasteTech needed to get rid of the patchwork of different legacy systems they had been using for ordering and purchasing, in favour of one integrated system in the cloud. They chose SAP Business ByDesign – a solution in a box which comes with finance and project management. It can be used to manage sales as well as manufacturing. By working in partnership with InCloud Solutions they have streamlined their production and distribution processes while gaining greater transparency and control over operations. Today, checks are faster, labelling more accurate and they can make changes more simply as they add products to their portfolio – all of which enhances their reputation for quality.
